Voluntary Plan

Plan members can try PocketPills and may benefit from lower costs without any commitment

  • Plan members who fill prescriptions through PocketPills benefit from a flat $7 dispensing fee and low pharmacy mark-up
  • Plan sponsor drug cost savings are realized to the extent that plan members choose PocketPills
  • There is no change to the plan design

Incentivized Plan

Plan members who fill prescriptions through PocketPills get an extra 10% reimbursement on drugs at no change in premium

  • Plan members who fill prescriptions through PocketPills benefit from a flat $7 dispensing fee and no pharmacy mark-up
  • An extra 10% reimbursement (to the current plan) for purchases made through PocketPills has no impact to the quoted rate. Example: if current plan is 80% reimbursement and plan sponsor selects 90% reimbursement with PocketPills, there will be no impact to the rate. For pricing regarding other reimbursements, speak to an RBCI Sales Consultant
  • Due to provincial legislation, Incentivized Plan is not available to Quebec residents.

Mandatory Plan

Plan members must purchase maintenance drugs (drugs used in the treatment of chronic or long term conditions) from PocketPills in order for claims to be eligible, maximizing plan savings

  • Plan members who fill prescriptions through PocketPills benefit from a flat $7 dispensing fee and no pharmacy mark-up
  • There is a one-time exception for plan members to use any pharmacy to fill a maintenance prescription and get their drugs covered while they sign up with PocketPills.
  • Prescriptions for acute conditions do not need to be filled through Pocketpills; Specialty drugs and narcotics cannot be purchased from Pocketpills
  • Due to provincial legislation, Mandatory Plan is not available to Quebec residents
