Individuals who currently have or have had any of the following illnesses or conditions are ineligible for our Critical Illness Recovery Plan policy:
- AIDS (AIDS-related disease or HIV positive)
- Alcohol abuse (within past two years)
- Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS); known as Lou Gehrig disease
- Alzheimer disease
- Angina
- Angioplasty
- Blindness (may be excluded)
- Cancer(5)
- Chronic hepatitis (other than type A)
- Chronic kidney disease
- Colon polyps(6)
- Coronary artery bypass surgery
- Cystic fibrosis
- Deafness (may be excluded)
- Diabetes (insulin dependent)
- Heart attack
- Huntington's chorea
- Kidney failure
- Major organ transplant
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson disease
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Permanent paralysis
- Primary lateral sclerosis
- Progressive bulbar palsy
- Progressive muscular atrophy
- Progressive pseudo bulbar palsy
- Sickle cell disease
- Stroke
- Systemic lupus erythematosis
- Transient ischemic attack
- Valvular heart surgery
