"Weddingmoons" jump 400% in 10 years!
Destination weddings and honeymoon combos, also called "weddingmoons",
have increased 400% over the last 10 years 1 . In fact, couples plan to
spend an average of $25,806 for 63 guests attending 1 , and since many
travel and pre-paid wedding arrangements are often non-refundable, it's
important that couples protect their investment. At the very least, they
should consider Cancellation and Interruption insurance in case they need
to cancel or come home early due to an emergency medical condition of
an immediate family member or the delay of a scheduled carrier.
Emergency medical insurance is also important. Private and group health
plans and HMOs typically only cover a limited portion of out-of-state
or country medical costs — which can be huge, depending on the situation
and destination. Better yet, if there are 15 or more in the same party
traveling to the same destination, suggest insurance for the individual
members of the group.
A destination wedding or honeymoon is a once in a lifetime event for most
couples and should be a memorable experience…for the right reasons. Make
sure your clients say "I do" to RBC Travel Protection®.
